In the context of clinical research, clinical studies are conducted together with the study center of the cooperating university hospital, both in interventional and non-interventional form. The Fraunhofer division focusses here on early phases of clinical development and in particular also on so-called IIT, which are scientific studies on new issues where the initiative comes from us. Patients can take the opportunity, outside of usual medication, to use newly developed drugs to treat their disease and improve their quality of life. To ensure consistent patient care, tools for more accurate diagnosis and objective assessment of disease severity are developed and co-developed with patients, in addition to drug development. Studies, audits and inspections are performed following GCP (Good Clinical Practice) guidelines.

Our goal is to decisively develop and improve the treatment of our patients with new therapeutic approaches in all our research areas.

The following indications are covered by the studies performed:

  • Chronic spontaneous urticaria
  • Chronic induced urticaria
  • Mastocytosis
  • Prurigo
  • Pruritus
  • Atopic dermatitis
  • Autoinflammation
  • Hereditary angioedema
  • Erythropoetic protoporhyria
