Fraunhofer ITMP is organized into 11 cross-location and cross-departmental innovation platforms that take a transdisciplinary and flexible approach to developing new technologies, disease models, and therapy concepts. Working in agile teams spanning the research areas of drug discovery, preclinical research, and clinical research, these platforms develop and implement new systemic research concepts.

 

Drug Screening & Compound Repurposing

A powerful platform for exploration of disease mechanisms, target validation, translational insights and discovery of substances as disease modifying agent.

Multiomics

Our multi-omics platform offers state-of-the-art technologies for integrative analyses — enabling the evidence-based processing of preclinical and clinical research topics.

Bioimaging

Our imaging platform enables the structural and spatial characterization of clinically relevant targets, including tissue samples and cellular structures, all the way down to the atomic resolution of proteins and nucleic acids.

Human iPSC Models and Organoids

Human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) are a valuable resource for patient-derived model systems that we use to test drug candidates for efficacy and toxicity.

Disease Models

Predictive human preclinical in vitro cell/disease models for evaluating disease hypotheses and characterizing drug candidates.

Clinical Samples and Biobanking

The Fraunhofer ITMP sites collect clinical samples and related data to work on scientific questions and make them available for collaborative research.
